The challenge
IDWorks builds digital identity technology grounded in self-sovereign identity, where people control their own credentials. That work sits on Corda, a specialized distributed-ledger platform, so the usual challenge of ramp-up time is sharper: most teams would need weeks to become productive. IDWorks needed engineers who could contribute immediately.
What we did
Tarmac supplied a Corda-certified team that understood the platform before the first sprint began. We worked across Corda, Kotlin, and Java on the ledger and services side, with React on the front end, plugging directly into IDWorks’ team. Because the engineers already knew the technology, there was no long onboarding tax, and the Tarmac 10 kept quality and communication tight from the outset.
The results
IDWorks got senior engineers who were productive from the start, contributing to a demanding self-sovereign identity product without the usual ramp-up delay.
As Head of Operations Mikail Conybeare put it: “The Tarmac engineers were able to add value from day one.”
