The challenge
A leading Swiss payments company needed to migrate to AWS without ever putting compliance at risk. In payments, the cloud foundation has to satisfy strict PCI-DSS requirements across every product it touches. The company wanted a partner who could design and run that migration securely, and who would engage as a technical peer rather than a vendor.
What we did
Tarmac designed and delivered the AWS migration on a secure, multi-account architecture defined in Terraform, with CI/CD pipelines to keep changes controlled and auditable. We treated compliance as a design constraint from day one, building the guardrails and infrastructure-as-code that a PCI-DSS environment demands. Throughout, our senior engineers worked shoulder to shoulder with the client’s team, sharing decisions openly.
The results
The migration passed three PCI-DSS audits across two products, giving the payments leader a secure, compliant, and repeatable cloud foundation to build on. The way of working mattered as much as the outcome.
As the client’s Head of Web Development put it: “The interaction felt like a genuine conversation among peers rather than a sales pitch.”
